Free Cybersecurity Careers Workshop Offered at Lake Superior College

Experience what individuals in the cybersecurity field do for a living and learn what career opportunities the field has to offer at a free adult Cybersecurity Careers workshop on Friday, November 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants are welcome to attend for part or all of the day’s activities, pizza will be provided for lunch.

Held at Lake Superior College’s main campus, 2101 Trinity Road, Room T170, and led by LSC’s Computer Information Systems Department and sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, the workshop is targeted toward adults who are looking for a new career and have an interest in technology, networking, programming and cybersecurity.

Workshop topics and activities throughout the day include Job Outlook/Career Paths; Cyber Hygiene; Password Cracking; Internet of Things (IOT) Lab; Coding in Linux and Python and Virtual Capture the Flag.

The U.S. Department of Defense has funded the LSC Cybersecurity Careers workshop to increase awareness about the many jobs available in the cybersecurity field.
